David, I agree that more members should join this network. As I visited Philip Porter this autumn, we discussed the social networks in general, and basicly I think the club only can benefit from them. Before I became aware of the Facebook group initiated by Rafe, I actually started my own group under nearly the same name. I tried to invite XK-Club representatives, but I realised, that we should'nt compete about this but on the contrary try to concentrate on one social FB group. I would like to encourage more XK-Club members to become a member of this Worldwide Social Network. I think Rafe has a fantastic enthousiasm, which is crucial to keep this as an ongoing social network, and I think we should help him to migrate members of the Facebook group to this network. At the same time I very much would like to encourage members of this network to become members of the XK-Club, as I think the club gives so many benefits for the members. I think the vast majority of the XK-club members never realized, that one of the greates benefits from the Club is Philips own personal network and passion for the Jaguar legend. Without his network and passion an event like the XK-60 at Goodwood never could have been organized. Without his fantastic efforts to associate crucial Jaguar specialists like Guy Broad, SNG Barrat, CMC, VSE, as well as contributors like David Bently Kieth Martin, Nigel Cronc, Keth Fell, Peter Ingramand manny manny more we never wuld have such an inspirational network around the Jaguars. Personally I have made so manny new and inspirational friends through the Club. I think this network and the XK-Club can benefit very much from each. The more you stir in the pot, the better it gets. Regarding Le Mans 2010 I have now ordered tickets for week-end, including camping in the Bleu North area as well as a grand stand ticket. I will also drive my XK140DHC. We defenitely should organize some sort of "get together" in Le Mans.
Need to compare notes? The following members own XK 140s:
