SII, E-Type Interior

Posted on February 7, 2010 at 8:24am 0 Comments

I am ready to replace the interior in my SII OTS. It has fairly new black paint with a tired, light tan interior. I plan to go with the OSJI kit which is on sale. I had a 65 OTS years ago that was black with a red interior. I loved that car. I would like to do the same to this one. The thing is, despite attending and particiipating in Jaguar concours' and numerous auctions, for decades, I don't recall ever seeing such a combo. Has anyone ever seen this combo on a Series II? Would it be…

XK 120 ODDIMENT DRAWER

Posted on January 15, 2010 at 9:03am 5 Comments

The FHC I am working on had a cheap radio installed where the center drawer goes. In the process of restoration, I purchased a new interior wood set from Saul at British Autowood. (The set is gorgeous!).
Can anyone help me, or point me to where I can find the drawer slides and related bracketry for this drawer.
Thanks
Richard

XK 120 Brake drum questions

Posted on January 15, 2010 at 7:38am 3 Comments

Can one of you tell me which brake drums went with which model. I have a wire-wheel, 54 FHC. I noticed that two of my drums are dished and two are flat-faced. Which is right?
Does anyone have the correct drums I need? Thanks,
Richard

Going to Scottdale??

Posted on December 31, 2009 at 7:21pm 2 Comments

Anyone going? At work, I am preparing a 1913, 1-38 Packard, a 36, Packard Super 8 Convertible Phaeton and a 35, Le Baron-bodied, Model K Lincoln roadster for the R&M auction.

I wonder how the market is going to be effected by the pending sales of two collections recently seized by the US gov. One in Indiana and one in Salt Lake City, together with the likely pending liquidation of the O'Quinn collection out of Houston and the Bankrupt Dean Kruise collection out of Auburn. Seems… Continue

In future please use the Forum section for tech related questions. Forums tend to stay on top where as the Blog posts get buried very quickly. Feel free to add your unanswered question in the Forum section.

You and I share the same 120 FHC model. My car is presently in storage but I will be seeing it later during the day. I'll check the drawer and get back to you. I'm also interested in the coordinates and contact details of British Autowood. Thanks.

Thanks Rafe and Jose. I have decided to make my parts purchase from XK engineering in Coventry. The shop in Maderia was worrisome.
