Can one of you tell me which brake drums went with which model. I have a wire-wheel, 54 FHC. I noticed that two of my drums are dished and two are flat-faced. Which is right?
Does anyone have the correct drums I need? Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard,
On disc wheel cars, the drums are the same on all four corners, but on wire wheel cars the front drums are dished. the rear drums LOOK like the steel wheel type but they have a slightly bigger centre hole and the stud pitch is further apart. Sometimes you see disc-wheel drums that have been filed out to suit the wire wheel hub..avoid these like the plague as they rarely run true!
Sounds like you have a full set already.

Who would have guessed? I wonder how that evolved? Thanks for the info.

because originally they didn't have wires, the easiest thing was to change the drums to suit the dunlop hubs. the rest of the system remains unchanged.
